Accessibility statement
CalcAussie is built to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboards, magnification or reduced motion.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across the site, including every calculator page.
What we do
- Every input has a visible, permanently associated label — never placeholder-only labelling.
- Results update in place and are exposed to assistive technology, so you are told the answer changed.
- The whole site is operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
- Body text and interface text meet AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
- Text can be resized to 200% and the layout reflows down to a 320px-wide screen without horizontal scrolling.
- Headings, landmarks and breadcrumbs follow a logical order for screen reader navigation.
- Motion is decorative only and respects your reduced-motion system setting.
- Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
Known limitations
Some calculators present detailed breakdown tables that are easier to read on a wider screen; the same figures are always available as labelled rows. If you hit a barrier we have not listed, we want to hear about it.
Report a barrier
Contact us through the contact page and tell us the page, the device or assistive technology you were using, and what happened. We treat accessibility problems as bugs and prioritise them accordingly.
