Round a number to decimal places
Choose the number of digits to keep after the decimal point. The next digit determines whether the retained value stays the same or increases, using the rounding method shown with the result.
For example, rounding 12.346 to two decimal places gives 12.35 because the third decimal digit is 6. Rounding to zero decimal places produces a whole number.
Round once at the end of a calculation
Repeatedly rounding intermediate values can create a different final answer from keeping full precision and rounding once. Retain extra digits while calculating, especially for rates, measurements and financial totals.
