How this calculator works
This calculator converts the total number of days between two dates into full weeks plus any remaining days. It's commonly used for tracking pregnancy progress, parental leave, project sprints or subscription periods measured in weeks.
Convert the date difference into weeks and days
The calculator first counts the calendar days between the selected dates, then divides by seven to show complete weeks and remaining days. Inclusive mode counts both boundary dates and can change the remainder.
A result such as 5 weeks and 3 days is an exact calendar duration, while a decimal-week value is more convenient for rates, plans or comparisons that require one number.
Calendar weeks are not working weeks
This result includes weekends and does not automatically remove Australian public holidays. Use a business-days calculator when the question concerns working time, payroll processing or a business deadline.
Pregnancy, employment, tenancy and legal time periods may have their own counting definitions. Treat this as date arithmetic and confirm the governing rule before using it for an official deadline.
Frequently asked questions

Can I use this for pregnancy tracking?
Yes, enter your reference date and today's date to see how many weeks and days have passed.
Does it matter which date is first?
No, the calculator works out the absolute difference regardless of the order you enter the dates.
