How this calculator works

Calculate the total and per-person accommodation cost
Multiply the nightly room or property rate by the number of nights to estimate the booking total. Dividing that total by the number of travellers sharing the booking shows each person's accommodation share and makes differently sized groups easier to compare.
Use the rate for the whole room or property, not a per-person rate, when several travellers are sharing. If a booking quotes different prices on different nights, calculate each rate period separately and add the subtotals.

Compare the full price before booking
The advertised nightly rate may exclude cleaning charges, service fees, resort fees, parking, card surcharges, local taxes or a refundable security deposit. Add non-refundable charges before deciding which hotel, apartment or holiday rental is cheaper.
Check the cancellation conditions as well as the price. A slightly higher flexible rate can cost less overall if plans change, while currency conversion and overseas card fees can alter the Australian-dollar total for an international booking.
