How this calculator works
This calculator adds unused concessional contribution amounts from up to five previous financial years to this year's cap, giving an estimate of your total available concessional cap under the carry-forward (catch-up) rules. It is only available to those with a total super balance under the relevant threshold.

Frequently asked questions
How far back can unused cap be carried forward?
Unused concessional cap amounts can generally be carried forward for up to five financial years before they expire.
Am I eligible to use carry-forward amounts?
You need a total super balance below the threshold set for the relevant year, checked at the end of 30 June of the prior financial year.
Do I need to have made contributions in prior years to use this?
No, carry-forward is based on unused cap — if you contributed less than the cap (or nothing) in a year, the shortfall may be available to carry forward.
