Financial year versus calendar year
A calendar year runs from 1 January to 31 December. The Australian financial year crosses two calendar years and is commonly written using both, such as 2026–27.
The lookup is useful when organising tax records, invoices, payroll information and annual budgets. Some organisations can use substituted accounting periods, so confirm specialised reporting arrangements with your accountant or the ATO.
