Calculation breakdown

Mode
Value(s) with the highest frequency

Worked example

In the set 4, 4, 7, 9 the number 4 appears twice, making it the mode.

Assumptions

  • The first four values are always included; toggle on values 5 to 8 to include them.
  • If all values are equally frequent, no unique mode exists.

How this calculator works

This calculator counts how often each number appears among up to eight values you enter and reports the one (or ones) that occur most often. If every value appears the same number of times, it notes that there is no unique mode.

Frequently asked questions

What if there are two modes?

The calculator lists all values that share the highest frequency, so you may see more than one mode reported.

What if all values are different?

When every value appears exactly once, there is no meaningful mode and the calculator will say so.

How do I exclude a field?

Use the toggle for that value to switch it off so it isn't counted in the frequency tally.
